Core Features

Key objectives and activities

The project works to increase enrollment and retention through various interventions such as financial incentives (conditional cash transfers), improving school infrastructure, and addressing social barriers

Improve access to education:

The project focuses on building new schools and renovating existing ones to make them more accessible.

Enhance school infrastructure

AGILE is involved in constructing 54 new junior and senior secondary schools and renovating 534 existing ones in Niger State.

Provide financial incentives

Conditional cash transfers are provided to eligible girls from poor households to encourage school attendance and reduce dropout rates.

Create a better learning environment

This includes providing quality teaching and learning materials, furniture, and sanitation and hygiene facilities, particularly for adolescent girls.

Empower girls with life skills

The project includes training in life skills and digital literacy to enhance girls' future capabilities.

Address social barriers

AGILE collaborates with community leaders, religious figures, and service providers to overcome social norms that hinder girls' education, including efforts to address gender-based violence.
